March 28 was a very special day. It's the 2nd Freethinkers Forum and it was also Earth Hour 2009.
A more personal forum.
This was my second Freethinkers forum and I was a little hesitant at first to attend this. Well...another chit-chat with the "moderates". But I guess it won't hurt to attend huh?
The venue was a little off-place and the traffic is awful, so it's not a suprise to see few attendance (I think there are only 20 people). There are only a few familiar face and thank goodness there are new guys around.
Moderates vs. Millitant
So what's new...Well I'm gonna miss Teddy. He's going to Australia for 10 months and OK thanks to those books. Other than that...Red and his wife are again...such a good host.
But the thing that striked me the most was how strong moderate atheism here in the Philippines. I have to explore this some day.
To Miss Laani Sarmiento (Ms. Elove)
Hehehe...what there is to say about this huh?
Going to TRINOMA
So off to TRINOMA to celebrate Earth Hour 2009.
I was very glad to hear that the Philippines was number 1 in this Earth Hour celebration. TRINOMA is quite near to my house so after that meeting in Ateneo, I prefer TRINOMA comapre to MOA (SM Mall of Asia) so I can easily go home by 9:30 PM.
There is only a coundown and some fire dances...nothing much. But I think that's really not necessary. Personally I think we should celebrate Earth Hour every day. Naw...I'm not saying that we turn off our lights everyday for one hour...All I'm saying is that we think about our planet. DAMN! We don't need KLAATU to do that for us.
Here's what happened...courtesy of YOUTUBE.
And here's the TRINOMA Earth Hour:
